For optimal performance and visual enhancements on Fabric, consider using Sodium and Iris. Sodium greatly improves game performance, while Iris is an outstanding mod for implementing shaders.
Compatibility
Sodium and Iris are compatible exclusively with the Fabric modloader and do not work with Forge. If you are using Forge please use OptiFine.
To check which modloader you're currently using, look at the bottom left corner of your screen.
